Getting started with EU Shop Kit
EU Shop Kit adds the features EU consumer law asks of online shops to your Wix store. Every plan includes the withdrawal button and the EU legal-guarantee notice. Paid plans add product safety information (GPSR) and prior prices for discounts (Omnibus).
Setting it up takes about ten minutes.
Before you start
- A Wix site that sells online, on a Wix plan that supports selling.
- Wix Stores, for product safety information, prior prices and matching withdrawals to orders. Without it, the withdrawal button and the legal-guarantee notice still work, and the overview tells you what is missing.
- Your business details: legal business name, address and a contact email for customers.
1. Add EU Shop Kit to your site
- Find EU Shop Kit in the Wix App Market.
- Click Add to Site and choose your site.
- Follow Wix’s prompts. EU Shop Kit opens in your Wix dashboard and starts the setup wizard.
You start on the Free plan. No credit card is needed.
2. Complete the setup wizard
The wizard has six steps. Each step is saved when you click Next, so you can stop and come back later. Until you finish, EU Shop Kit opens the wizard again.
| Step | What you do |
|---|---|
| Welcome | See what EU Shop Kit will set up. |
| Business | Check your legal business name, address, contact email and phone. We fill in what Wix knows about your business. These details appear in withdrawal statements and confirmation emails, so check them well. |
| Withdrawal | Choose where the withdrawal button appears and how it looks, what you sell, and your typical delivery time. See The withdrawal button. |
| EU notice | Choose where the EU legal-guarantee notice appears. See The EU legal-guarantee notice. |
| Markets | Choose your default shopper language and the countries you sell to. See Languages and markets. |
| Done | Click Go to overview. |
You can keep the suggested settings and change everything later in Apps → EU Shop Kit → Settings.
3. Publish your site
The storefront elements appear on your published site only. You won’t see them in the Wix Editor or in the preview.
- Click Publish in the Editor.
- Open your live site in a private browser window to check.
If the button doesn’t appear, see The withdrawal button does not appear on my site.
What your shoppers see
| Where | What | Plan |
|---|---|---|
| Every page | The withdrawal button, labelled Withdraw from contract here or the official wording in the shopper’s language. By default it floats in the bottom-left corner. | All plans |
| Every page | A small Your legal guarantee rights link next to the withdrawal button. It opens the official EU notice. | All plans |
| Product pages | The Your legal guarantee rights link. | All plans |
| Product pages | A Product safety information section with manufacturer details, identifiers and warnings. | Pro and Business |
| Discounted products | The line Lowest price in the 30 days before the discount: … | Pro and Business |
| Product pages | The GARAN label, for products whose producer gives a durability guarantee of more than two years. | Pro and Business |
Whether the notice link appears on every page, on product pages or both depends on your settings. Both is the default.
Texts appear in the shopper’s language, in all 24 official EU languages. The storefront elements set no cookies and don’t track visitors.
Try the withdrawal button
Click the button on your live site to see the two-step dialog. If you go all the way and click Confirm withdrawal, a real withdrawal is recorded and the confirmation email is sent. You can’t delete withdrawal records, so use an order you placed yourself, and set the request to Closed in the inbox afterwards.
4. Check the overview
Open Apps → EU Shop Kit → Overview. You’ll find:
- Compliance score: 0 to 100, based on the checklist.
- Checklist: what’s covered and what still needs work, with a button to fix each open item.
- Law updates: short notes on EU rules for online shops, each with a link to the official source.
- Latest withdrawals: the five most recent requests.
The checklist
| Item | Done when |
|---|---|
| Withdrawal button | The button is switched on in Settings. |
| Button visible on your site | The button has loaded on your live site in the last 7 days. Open any page of your live site once to trigger the check. |
| Your business details | Legal name, street, postal code, city, country and email are filled in. |
| EU legal-guarantee notice | The notice is switched on. |
| Product safety information (GPSR) | Every product has complete safety information. Pro feature. |
| Lowest price before discounts (Omnibus) | Prior prices are switched on. Only counts when you have discounted products. Pro feature. |
| Obsolete ODR link removed | Your site no longer links to the EU’s online dispute resolution platform, which closed on 20 July 2025. Checked by the weekly storefront scan (Business). |
| Imprint, terms and privacy pages | Your site links to an imprint, terms and conditions and a privacy policy. Checked by the weekly storefront scan (Business). |
Each item shows Done, Needs attention, Missing, Not checked or Not needed. The score weighs items by importance. The withdrawal button, its visibility on your site and the EU notice are critical. Items that are Not checked or Not needed don’t count.
A score of 100 means every item on the checklist is covered. It doesn’t mean your shop meets every legal requirement. You remain responsible for your legal texts, such as your terms, withdrawal policy, privacy policy and imprint. EU Shop Kit isn’t legal advice.
Duplicated sites
When you duplicate a site that has EU Shop Kit, the copy starts with the same settings and manufacturer profiles, so there is nothing to set up again. Withdrawal requests stay with the original site, and notification addresses other than your Wix account email must be confirmed again for the copy.
Next steps
- Add the official sentence to your withdrawal policy. Your withdrawal information must mention the online withdrawal function, and EU Shop Kit gives you the official sentence to copy. See Add the official sentence to your withdrawal policy.
- Learn how to handle requests. See Managing withdrawal requests.
- On Pro: add product safety information to your products and check your prior prices for discounts.
